Studies have shown that people who eat breakfast gain less weight, are more alert and have healthy hearts. After not eating eight to ten at night, our bodies need to be refueled. Breakfast jump starts your metabolism. People who skip breakfast tend to end up in a slump mid-morning and consume more calories throughout the day.
Living a hectic life has a nutritional challenge. Very often, unless we wake up at dawn, we are usually running out the door, running children at the door, or both. Although intellectually we realize the importance of eating breakfast, sometimes a thing is that we can not achieve.
I discovered a shortcut solution that allows me to eat breakfast on the run. Here are five of my favorite little breakfast phones:
3 A hard boiled egg, a glass of milk and a banana.
2 A bran muffin (make a batch and freeze), a glass of milk and fruits.
3 A sandwich of peanut and honey on whole wheat bread and fruit butter.
4 A fruit smoothie made with milk and protein powder.
5 A cheese sandwich on rye bread with lettuce and tomato. (Yes, a cheese sandwich)
Experiment with your favorite foods and create your own breakfast in the race. Do not forget to include a fruit or vegetable, a good source of fiber and protein. Include your fruit for breakfast or as a snack your mid-morning. Make breakfast a habit. By doing this, you are not only helping your body, but teaching your good family, also eating habits.
